Nick’s Trick

The first time
I loved you,
you were called
Diothesius.

The second time,
I was Superman
but I confessed
my weaknesses.

Then in the hotel,
you were Nicholas,
disappearing down the stairs,
out the door.

Now, in the rain,
I am waiting
for your car--
no one kills me like you do.
